Lot 1: Block 3 Pinot Noir Vertical 6x75cl
WINNING BID: £2800
Lot 2: 2014 Horizontal 12x75cl
WINNING BID: £2300
Felton Road has never before released library stock to the open market, so the chance to bid on original cases from the winery is particularly special. Block 3 is their most awarded Pinot, with not a single online listing of any of the vintages offered in the vertical. 2014, meanwhile, is unquestionably a Felton Road classic (one of Nigel Greening’s personal favourites). The Horizontal contains one of every wine produced by Felton Road that year – something only ever offered on the original release of that vintage in 2015.
The highest bidder for each lot also receives an additional prize; an open invitation to visit Felton Road in New Zealand, where Nigel Greening will cook them and their guests lunch on site. They’ll be given a full tasting and tour of the cellars, along with the chance to select a single bottle of their choosing from the library (from which stock has never been sold) to enjoy with lunch.
Bids can be submitted by phoning or emailing your CV Private Client Specialist. If you don’t have a contact within the team and would like to place a bid, please call +44 (0) 20 7193 8006. Bidding commences on Monday 14th November and will close on Friday 18th at 5pm. A counter on the Chelsea Vintners website will display the current leading bid for each lot.
100% of profits from this auction will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières, an international humanitarian non-governmental medical organisation best known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases. These men and women are one of the few organisations truly recognised as neutral and apolitical, thus capable of helping innocents caught up in genocides and war. MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999 and is a charity that Felton Road has supported passionately for many years.
