The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru has dispensed with the austerity it demonstrated out of barrel, but it retains focus and linearity. It’s not a flamboyant bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with a beautiful entry, a keen line of acidity and just a touch of stem ginger (again). The 2022 shows impressive persistence on the finish. Excellent. Tasted at the Stannary Wines dinner in London with Thierry Pillot.
